Infraestructura Ferroviaria

The whole infrastructure and installations that PC will put into effect are regrouped in three categories:

1-Railway Instalations

El railway sector is composed by:
  • A bundle of R/E lines, electrified, with a useful length of 900 m and a maximum lengthwise slope of 3 ‰.
  • A bundle of four C/D lines (non-electrified), with 900 m of useful length each and a lengthwise slope of 0‰ and exit each 450 m.
  • Trunk line of 900 m of useful length and maximum slope of 3‰.
  • Diversion type C for R/E lines and the link with the general line.
  • Diversion type A for the internal use and manoeuvre.
  • Control building and railway command.
The load and unload sector will be formed by a container spot paved with a minimum of 900 m x 55 m with interior traffic street of 18 m of width and with the possibility of incorporating a Gantry crane for the undertaking of containers transfers and the storage of same.


2-Non-railway instalations


Finally, there is a sector of auxiliary and complementary installations where there could be accommodated:
  • Services and management building.
  • Customs installations.
  • Transitory warehousing.
  • Warehouses dedicated to consolidation and deconsolidation of the load.
  • Maintenance workshops of railway material.
  • Maintenance workshops of load handling equipment.
  • Weighbridge.
  • Heavy vehicle parking spaces
  • Complementary platforms for the containers storage.

3-Description of logistic areas associated with the Intermodal Terminal

It entails an area of 25, 5 hectares dedicated to the logistics use with direct railway access from the trunk line to the Intermodal Terminal. It involves the creation of a vast logistic area with high intermodality between the road and the railway, with the capacity of accommodating different railway operators. The development plan involves massive plots (with surface areas of more than 2 hectares) with the possibility of incorporating internal railway beams with a useful length of more than 250m.

The possibility to unify several of these plots will allow reaching 500 metres of useful length line. This development plan is adequate for the installation of:
  • Terminals specialised in a full wagon. Vehicle transport, steel and iron, in bulk, …
  • Dedicated terminals. Warehouses with railway access.
