On 24th October 2018, the Puerta Centro— Ciudad del Transporte was officially opened, as the first development stage of the project was actually delivered.

On 24th October 2018, the Puerta Centro— Ciudad del Transporte was officially opened, as the first development stage of the project was actually delivered. The event has been attended by many authorities, both from the public and private sector; on the one hand, Mr. Juan José Cercadillo García, CEO for Hercesa Inmobiliaria and DTL (Desarrollos Tecnológicos y Logísticos, developing company of Puerta Centro) and on the other hand, the illustrious mayors Mr. Antonio Román Jasanada and Mr. Rafael Esteban Santamaría, mayors for Guadalajara and Marchamalo respectively, representing the cities where the Ciudad del Transporte is located. Besides, the Regional President of Castile La Mancha, Mr. Emiliano García-Page, has also attended the event. Sr. Emiliano García-Page. All attendants have expressed their joy when witnessing, after all these years of effort and perseverance, the opening of this logistic platform which has eventually become a reality today. “… 14 years ago, I boarded a train which has taken me here…”, this was the opening line of Mr. Juan Jose Cercadillo, who has strongly and assertively mentioned and thanked all those involved in the project. This event has taken place at the foot of a sculpture representing a door, symbol of the opening of this large project, as the opening of the Iberian Peninsula to worldwide trade.
